DITA: Making it Work for You, March 16 – 18 2009

DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) is certainly the most talked-about development in the field of user documentation. If you are involved in writing documents such as user manuals, procedures or online Help, DITA promises you a framework for designing and delivering well-structured content efficiently and consistently in a single-sourcing environment.

iDTP presents in cooperation with Suite Solutions a three day DITA course.

This DITA Quick Start Workshop is designed to get you up and running authoring, managing and publishing your content using DITA. The workshop is intensive, pragmatic and includes plenty of hands-on exercises. Your trainer is Shimon Brody, Principal Consultant, with over a decade of extensive experience as a technical communicator, trainer and tool specialist.

After completing the workshop, you will:

Be well grounded in the foundations of using DITA for documentation and training content

Have hands-on experience authoring DITA content and assembling topics into deliverables

Understand the basics of information architecture and be able to design your own content model, plan for reuse and achieve multi-purpose documents

Be able to publish your content into PDF and HTML-based formats using the DITA Open Toolkit

Bring your own laptop to do the exercises.
As part of the training, we will help you to install and configure the DITA Open Toolkit so you can publish your own documents.

Small class, maximum interaction:

The workshop will be held in Utrecht, only 30 kms from Amsterdam, on March 16, 17 and 18 (monday to wednesday) 2009.
The location is easy to acces by public transport or by car.

The cost for this three day workshop is €1500 per student. This will include lunch and printed course material.
